Slamball
by Dorian Brunz
Young Theatre
What do you do when your best friend has suddenly died and the people at the new school say he must be bunking off? Flo just says that Ari’s gone to the Olympics – as the second-youngest participant ever, as a member of the national ping pong team! Plus there’s Wendy, and Wendy really wants to be friends with Flo, or maybe more? And then a poster of Flo and Ari’s favourite ping pong player starts joining in and doles out advice he’s never been asked for.
Dorian Brunz’s play is about loss, friendship and a love of sport – and about what happens when one lie leads to another.
