Driven by strange dreams, orphan boy Krabat ends up at a mill at Koselbruch. He soon realises that this is no ordinary apprenticeship. Apart from teaching them to be millers, the sinister master also instructs his students in the art of black magic. Krabat is enthralled by the possibilities presented by the spells. Yet little by little he learns what dark secrets the mill holds.
Using techniques from puppetry, »Krabat« is about the temptations of power, resisting injustice and fighting for freedom.
