DE Season 2026/27

Join in and play along

Play along productions

We give people from Heidelberg and the surrounding area a stage: for anyone who would like to share their own stories, experiences and perspectives, our programme includes productions in which you can take part. Over the course of several weeks of rehearsals, local residents work together with professional directing teams to develop these productions. We welcome people from all walks of life, of all ages and with a wide range of experiences.

KINDERclub (8–11)

Acting, being on stage, making new friends – children aged 8 to 11 can experience all this in the KINDERclub. Through play, they immerse themselves in the world of theatre and develop a performance together.

YOUTHclub (12–15)

The YOUTHClub is aimed at 12- to 15-year-olds who want to bring their own play to the stage and make new friends in the process. The focus is on creativity, fun and experimenting together.

TANZclub (16–50)

The TANZclub is aimed at people aged 16 to 50 who want to discover their bodies in movement in a playful and creative way. With joy, concentration and imagination, we dance, improvise and develop choreographic material that forms the basis of a joint dance production.

Here, people of different ages and with different native languages come together. Together, they engage in intergenerational exchange and, of course, perform theatre! The GENERATIONENclub brings together people of different ages and with different native languages. They engage in intergenerational exchange and perform theatre.

WOMEN’S club (18–100)

Singing

After-Work Sing-Along (6–100)

Whether you’re a virtuoso baritone or going through the change of voice, whether you’ve sung in a choir before or just at a birthday sing-along, all voices are welcome!

  • From November, every first Thursday of the month, 5–6 pm, Heidelberg Theatre, Foyer

Children’s and Youth Choir »KiJuChor« (6–21)

The KiJuChor offers children and young people who love singing the chance to perform on stage. Alongside the opera repertoire, we create varied programmes that foster musical talent, team spirit and self-confidence. No previous experience is necessary. Twice per season, open rehearsals are held where families and friends are welcome to sing along.

  • Rehearsals: Wednesdays during term time

Explore

Come & Play

Feel like getting active before your theatre visit? Before selected drama performances, we offer a 45-minute workshop on a rehearsal stage. We take a look behind the scenes and explore the themes and motifs of the play in a playful and creative way. With a fresh perspective, we then embark on the theatre experience.

  • Dates are published in the monthly programme and on the website.
  • Tickets are available at the box office.

Stay & Talk

Explore the stage design together and let what you’ve seen sink in: following selected theatre productions, we invite you onto the stage at the Zwinger. Here, the play is relived interactively and explored further. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and questions and to chatting with you in a relaxed atmosphere.

  • Dates are published in the monthly programme and on the website.

Youth Dramaturgy (10–14)

Are you interested in how a play comes to life? Do you have an opinion on what happens on stage and would like to contribute your ideas? As a youth dramaturg, you’ll accompany a production at the Junges Theater. You’ll become part of the team, attend rehearsals and experience first-hand how a production takes shape.
